Common questions

My signature is printed on the call letter — does the quality matter?

Yes, more than for most exams. LIC reproduces this image on your call letter, so a faint or badly cropped scan follows you through the whole process and makes the exam-day comparison harder. Scan at 200 DPI in true colour and crop tight to the writing.

What if my signature does not match on exam day?

LIC states the applicant will be disqualified. Upload the signature you actually write day to day, not a careful one-off — you have to reproduce it under pressure months later.

My file comes out under 10 KB.

That fails LIC’s minimum. A signature is just dark ink on white paper, so it compresses far below 10 KB. This tool pads the file up to the floor so it passes both the minimum and the 20 KB ceiling.

Which LIC posts does this cover?

The specification comes from the AAO (Generalist) advertisement, which was notified alongside the Specialist and Assistant Engineer posts and uses the same upload guidelines. Check your own notification, since LIC can revise specifications between batches.
