SBI handwritten declaration
SBI's declaration wording is different from the one every other bank uses. The exact text is below, along with a resizer that lands it at 800 × 400 px and 50–100 KB.
What the form actually requires
- File size
- 50 KB to 100 KB, JPG / JPEG
- Dimensions
- 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm)
- Language
- English only. Any other language makes the application invalid.
- Handwriting
- Your own. Written by anyone else, the application is invalid.
- Ink
- Black ink on plain white paper.
- Not capitals
- A declaration written in CAPITAL LETTERS is not accepted. Write in ordinary sentence case.

The exact text to write
Copy this wording exactly. It is not the same as the IBPS version.
“I, __________ (Name of the candidate), Date of Birth __________, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine.”
Replace the blanks with your name and date of birth as they appear on your application. Write it as one continuous piece, not as a list, and keep it inside a strip roughly twice as wide as it is tall.
How it differs from the IBPS declaration
Candidates applying to both banks in the same season routinely submit the wrong one.

SBI — two additions
Date of Birth immediately after your name, and the closing sentence “The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine”.
How to prepare it
- Take plain white paper and a black pen.
- Write the SBI text above in your own handwriting, in English, in normal case — not capitals.
- Keep it within a band about 10 cm wide by 5 cm tall so it matches the required shape.
- Scan at 200 DPI or photograph it straight on, then crop tightly above.
- Download at 800 × 400 px, 50–100 KB and upload it to the declaration slot — not the photo or signature slot.

Common questions
Is the SBI declaration the same as the IBPS one?
No, and this is the single most common mistake. SBI adds your date of birth after your name, and ends with a sentence the IBPS version does not have: "The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine". Copying the IBPS text onto an SBI form leaves out both. The two versions are printed side by side above so you can see the difference.
What date of birth format should I write?
SBI does not prescribe one. Write it the same way it appears in your application form and on your certificates, so a human comparing the two sees an obvious match. Do not abbreviate.
My scan is over 100 KB. What do I do?
Use the tool above. It crops to 800 × 400 and finds the highest quality that lands inside 50–100 KB. Scanning in greyscale rather than colour also helps, since the declaration is only ink on white paper.
My scan is under 50 KB and the portal rejects it.
SBI enforces a minimum of 50 KB as well as the 100 KB ceiling, and a clean scan of handwriting compresses well below that. This tool pads the file up to the floor so it satisfies both. Most compressors only handle the upper limit and leave you stuck.
Can someone else write it for me if my handwriting is bad?
No. SBI states the declaration must be in the candidate’s own handwriting, and one written or uploaded by anybody else makes the application invalid. Write slowly on unruled white paper instead.
